“The heart that breaks open can contain the whole universe,” Joanna Macy said. This weekend we will spend time cultivating a compassionate container so we can move through the world with resilience. Our focus will be the Brahma Viharas, which are the practices of lovingkindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. We will hold space for celebrating and suffering, grief and renewal, our internal process and our external world. How do we hold and cultivate these practices in the face of racism, sexism, environmental devastation and all of the suffering and injustice of the world we live in? How can we keep finding center as we navigate our internal world and the world around us? Join us for a weekend of holding everything in our own heart so we can come home to the heart of the world.
